Internal Sales and Customer Support Representative (CSR)

The Internal Sales and Customer Support Representative will be responsible for managing their allocated accounts and finding new opportunities to increase sales, as well as considering best actions required to help the business meet its goals in line with the Company Strategy. This role will be office based and part of a sales team of 10 people, of which 2 are external sales reps, working together to ensure the delivery of sales targets. 

Tasks & Main Responsibilities

  • Management of allocated customer accounts, in order to maintain business activity & sales.
  • Updating & maintaining customer records & contact events in CRM system (Shuttleworth).
  • Handling of quotations for all allocated customer accounts.
  • Processing of orders for all allocated customer accounts.
  • Identifying new opportunities and optimising sales with existing customers.
  • Tracking order usage and next order/contract requirements for allocated customer accounts.
  • Organising and instigating visits for external sales reps where required.
  • General account/administrative support to external sales team.
  • Preparation of any relevant sample packs.
  • Liaise with and support the New Business team regarding any new customer enquiries/new opportunities.
  • Managing any Quality issues/customer complaints.
  • Develop & maintain good communication with line manager & external sales reps.
  • Develop an understanding of accounts & opportunities in the broadest sense, i.e. Group size, customer market place, & possible expansion of sales within customer group/ within Europe.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Value and growth of sales for allocated customer accounts (measured against budgeted spend).
  • Value of new business added within the financial year (measured against new business target for nominated sector).
  • Customer satisfaction.
  • Response times to enquiries in line with company expectations.


  • Account management/Internal sales experience minimum 2 years.
  • Proven skills in sales development and customer service techniques.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Organised, disciplined.
  • IT literate with sound understanding of Microsoft office.
  • Educated to A level standard/proven English & Maths skills. 

Reporting to – Jennifer Murray (Sales Office Manager) and Neil Dunn (Sales Director)

Salary – £18-20K PA depending on experience

Holiday – 25 Days

Technical Sales Support Apprentice

We’re recruiting for an apprentice to support our Horticultural customers and Technical sales team with our labelling software package. This role will be based at our St Ives office in Cambridgeshire.

Tasks & Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting our Technical sales team, maximising the opportunity to sell labels.
  • Some account management responsibilities of our existing labelling customers.
  • You will be the first point of contact for new enquiries into the business (once trained)
  • You will give online demonstrations of our products to our customers.
  • You will attend on site demonstrations with our Technical sales staff.
  • You will attend trade shows with our team to talk directly to existing and prospective customers.

Skills / Requirements

  • You must have a positive and enthusiastic approach to learning about all aspects of our products.
  • Confident, with an interest in sales and customer service.
  • English and Maths GCSEs grade A-C or equivalent.

Full training will be provided.

Weekly wage – £187.50

Hours – Mon-Fri, 9-5:30pm, with an hour for lunch, 37.5 hours per week in total

Apprenticeship duration – 17 months, you will receive an Apprenticeship in Sales.
